Ferdos Apartment
Ferdos apartment is a renovation project with around 150 square meters of area space. Our clients and the new dwellers of the house demand features in their living spaces that could not be satisfied by the old plan. This appeared to be challenging especially when it came to wet areas since these modifications in the plan needed to comply with the predetermined mechanical facilities. The client has also demanded a three-bedroom unit, which regarding the spatial limitations were also a challenging aspect of addressing the project.
During these major changes, the designers propose other major changes to the design of the house. Firstly, the chimney and fireplace were omitted. This facilitates new access to the terrace from the main sitting room, hence turning the linear connectivities of the plan into a more network-like system providing more diversity and openness. Secondly, to emphasize more openness and clarity, the kitchen walls were lowered. Finally, through attention to material selection and application, designers succeeded to add even more layers of richness to space. A combination of natural wood and white color suggests a sense of intimacy throughout the house.
